a little creature that runs on sunlight
Lumalet
It does not fetch. It does not perform. It does not go anywhere. It sits in the light, and slowly turns the light into the colour of its own body.
You do not have to do anything well. You only have to open the lid once in a while.
Runs entirely in this browser. No account. No email. Nothing you do here is sent anywhere.
Lumalet cannot die, cannot lose a level, and cannot be behind. If you leave for a while it only fades a little, and waits.
What this is
Lumalet is modelled on a real animal: the leaf sheep sea slug (Costasiella). It eats algae, keeps the chloroplasts alive inside its own tissue, and then runs on sunlight. Biologists call it kleptoplasty — stealing photosynthesis.
Most habit apps reward you for doing more. Lumalet is built for the opposite feeling: the one where you already did too little, and would rather not be told about it. There is no streak counter here, because a streak is a debt. There is no score, because a score is a verdict.
Rest is not laziness. It is photosynthesis.
Everything is stored in this browser and nowhere else. and it is gone, including this month’s light.
